The Indian Entertainment and Media Industry has performed better in the Indian economy and is considered one among fastest growing sectors of India. It is increasing on the base of economic growth and accelerating income levels that our country has been witnessing in the last few years. This is indeed proving useful to the entertainment and media industry in India as this is a rather sensitive one and it prospers faster when it is an expanding economy. An added advantage to the entertainment and media industry in India is from the point of view of demographics where the spending of the consumer is increasing as a result of increase in disposable incomes due to sustained growth in income levels and reduced income tax in the last ten years. The present size of the industry is estimated at US$ 7 billion in 2004 and is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 14 per cent to US$ 13bn by the year 2009. The Filmed Entertainment and Television segment rules the industry succeeding to Print, Radio and the Music segments. The overall Indian economy observed a slack in 2012 due to both external and domestic factors. The fiscal and monetary stimulus given by the Government of India after financial-crisis resulted in strong growth in consumption and demand in 2009-10 and 2010-11. However, this has led to higher inflation and a powerful monetary response that reduced consumption demand. Moreover, infrastructure and corporate investment were also rallied down by the strict monetary policy and the policy bottlenecks. Externally, a slow global economy weighed down by the incessant crisis in the Euro area and prevalence of uncertainty in the US fiscal policy also increased risks to development. Notice and Focus: Girl Culture by Lauren Greenfield Essay

†Girl Culture† photo essay by Lauren Greenfield’s was shot inside a department store’s dressing room. It is about a picture of a young lady name Sheena, who seems to me, fitting some cloths while another girl, amber, about her age; probably a close friend is sitting on the floor watching her. The shot was taken candid. It appeared like a shot from a hidden security camera of the store. By the angle of where the picture was taken, I think the camera is located near the mirror where it could take a clear shot on the subject’s full frontal image. Sheena was almost half naked, wearing only jeans and a sando shirt in which she pulls up to her chest as she holds her breast. It really gave me an impression that Amber might be a very close friend for Sheena allowed her to see her that way probably to solicits some opinion. By the look at Sheena’s face, I could tell that see is disappointed about something and by the tight hold on her breast, I think she was discontented of its size. There are few things about this picture that captures my attention. The way Sheena holds her breast, the presence of Amber inside the rooms and the camera itself. With this photograph, one could tell how the thread of fashion’s today affects the mindsets of young girls cultures today. Most of our young ladies today, like Sheena, now always dream for a much larger breast. It shows how they are conditions by society that big breast attracts more. Page 2 With the presence of Amber inside the room it reflects how liberated our teens today. They are now less conservative with their privacy but I think it is just fine, for as long as they really know their friends. The good thing about it is that they know how to solicit suggestions among their peers for no one can really tell how good they look excepts for the peoples that surrounds them. This photo might be reflections of how young girl cultures today but what bothers me is the means this photo had taken. It’s a stolen shot from a dressing room of a public place and if this is true, I found it very alarming. This is a clear violation of privacy of every individual entering that room. Definition and Examples of Non Sequiturs

A non sequitur is a  fallacy in which a conclusion does not follow logically from what preceded it. Also known as  irrelevant reason and fallacy of the consequent. As illustrated below, nonsequiturs are the products of many different kinds of errors in reasoning, including begging the question, false dilemma, ad hominem, the appeal to ignorance, and the straw man argument. Indeed, as  Steve Hindes observes in Think for Yourself  (2005), A  non sequitur  is any pretended jump in  logic  that doesnt work cleanly, perhaps because of unfounded  premises, unmentioned complicating factors, or alternative explanations, such as This war is righteous because we are French! or You will do what I say because you are my wife! The Latin expression non sequitur means it does not follow. For instance, from the facts that most cats like milk and some cats have tails I could not derive the conclusion that David Hume was the greatest British philosopher. That would be a complete non sequitur that borders on the surreal, whether or not its conclusion is true. Non sequiturs are often advertised by the spurious use of so and therefore..., but the context of a statement can also suggest that it is a conclusion derived from what has gone before even when there is no such word used to indicate it.Any formal fallacy will have a non sequitur as its conclusion, though most of these non sequiturs will be less obvious than the one above. Bill Bryson: Non sequiturs are most often encountered in newspapers, where constructions such as the following are common: Slim, of medium height, and with sharp features, Mr. Smiths technical skills are combined with strong leadership qualities (New York Times). What, we might ask, do Mr. Smiths height and features have to do with his leadership qualities? Mabel Lewis Sahakian: The difference between the post hoc and the non sequitur fallacies is that, whereas the post hoc fallacy is due to lack of a causal connection, in the non sequitur fallacy, the error is due to lack of a logical connection.
